Visa Applications are received between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon, Mondays to Thursdays. Normal processing time is two working days. If the application is complete in all respects, passports are returned after grant of visa on the afternoon of the third day after submission. In case of urgency if the visa is to be issued on the same day, an express service fee of Rs. 700 (HUF 4620) is charged, in addition to the normal visa fee.
Persons holding passports other than Hungarian passports are expected to obtain visas for India from Indian Missions in the country, which has issued them the passport. HUF 2800 is charged for this service in addition to the applicable visa fee. Visas in such cases are granted after three working days.
Types of visas and documents required:
Tourist Visa
Intended for those going to India for tourism/holidays etc.
Tourist visa is valid for six months from the date of issue
Tourist visas are non-extendable.
Business Visa
Intended for those who go to India for business purpose.
This visa is issued for either single entry or multiple entries.
This visa is valid for stay up to three/six months at a time.
Introductory letter/note from -Indian counterpart needed.
Student Visa
Student visa is normally issued for the period of study.
Full details of the study course and letter of admission from a recognized institute/school in India, Proof of having sufficient funds should be provided with the visa application
Employment Visa
Employment Visa is issued to those who are going to take up assignment/employment with companies registered in India.
A copy of employment contract and proof of registration of company/employer are to be furnished along with visa application.
Conference Visa
Granted to those who are going to India for attending Conferences/Seminars etc.
Transit Visa
Transit visa is intended for transit through India to another country.
It is issued for single journey and for a maximum period of 3 days
Production of air ticket is required with confirmed onward passage from India.
Long term Visa
This visa is issued to foreign nationals of Indian origin
This visa is valid upto five years for stay in India upto six months on each visit or for a continuous stay upto five years subject to registration formalities.

List of documents to be attached with the application are:
1. Application Form for Visa
2. Application Form for filming documentaries in India along with undertaking.
3. Application for filming at protected monuments
4. List of team members along with their names, nationalities, dates of birth, passport numbers, place and date of issue, validity of their passports, occupation etc.
5. List of cinematic equipments with descriptions and brand names
6. Synopsis of the proposed film project.
7. Filming programme stage by stage and date by date.
8. Letter from the producer specifying the hospitality required.
9. Publicity Returns: TV Channel where the documentary will be screened (details of date/time/duration etc.)
(NOTE: Application Forms, Undertaking and information sheets should be signed by the Producer and submitted in nine sets. It may also be noted that the minimum processing time for visa in this case is 4-5 weeks.)

Mode of Payment
The prescribed visa fee can be paid:
? In cash*, or,
? by Postal Money Order, or,
? by crossed Eurocheque **, or,
? by bank transfer***
*Cash should not be sent by post.
** Card number should be written at the back of the cheque and a copy of the Euro card should also be sent.
*** Visa fees may be deposited in the respective Post Bank Accounts maintained by the Embassy and its Consulates General as per the details given below and the PROOF OF PAYMENT (Original bank remittance slip etc/transfer slip with the stamp of the bank) must be enclosed with the visa application to avoid delays in verifying the receipt of the payment.
