Hungary Visa Information

Visa Services Offered & Fee Structure

• Tourist Visa

o   Documents required: Photocopy of Identity, Confirmed return air ticket with one copy,  2 photographs, Card Filled Visa Form

o   Processing time (For Hungarian Nationals): 3 working days. Applicants must apply at least 7 days before departing to India

o   Fee: HUF16000/- single entry till six months

o   Notes: If an applicant requires a double entry Visa, he/she must submit evidence of visitation to neighboring countries of India during the time Visa is valid.

• Business Visa

o   Documents required: Photocopy of Identity Card, Invitation letter from concerned Indian business company/organization, 2 photographs, Return air ticket with one copy, letter of introduction from Hungarian Company, Filled Visa Form

o   Processing time (For Hungarian Nationals): 3 working days. Applicants must apply at least 10 days before departing to India.

o   Fee: HUF 44500/- Up to long term one-year Business Visa

• Conference Visa

o   Documents required: Filled Visa Form, Invitation (by name) from Indian organizers, 2 photographs, Return air ticket with one copy, Photocopy of Identity Card-Visas for international conferences, Letter of introduction from Hungarian Organization

o   Processing time: Minimum 3 weeks

o   Fee: HUF 29700/-

o   Notes: Conference Visa will be granted only to applicants who are Hungarian Nationals.  Other nationals must apply for Conference visa from their native country.

• Employment  Visa

o   Documents required:, Photocopy of Identity Card An appointment letter,  2 photographs, applicant’s resume, contract letter, Duration of visa would depend on the period of the contract, proof that the organization offering employment is registered in India, No-objection from Hungarian Organization & Letter of introduction , Filled Visa Form

o   Processing time: Minimum 6 weeks

o   Fee: HUF 29700/- (valid upto six months)

o   Note: Employment Visa will be granted only to applicants who are Hungarian Nationals.  Other nationals must apply for Conference visa from their native country.

• Transit Visa

o   Documents required: Photocopy of Identity Card, Valid visa for destination after India, 2 photographs, Application not before one week of departure, Confirmed onward air tickets, Filled Visa Form

o   Processing time: 3 working days

o   Fee: HUF 7500/-

• Student Visa

o   Documents required: Photocopy of Identity Card, Original Provisional admission letter from concerned recognized educational institution in India, duly attested Educational Transcripts, 3 photographs, Financial guarantee from parents/legal guardians of applicant, Filled Visa Form

o   Processing time: 15 working days

o   Fee: HUF 29400/-

• Research Visa

o   Documents required: Photocopy of Identity Card, 4 sets of enclosures Affiliation Certificate from concerned recognized Indian institution, 4 photographs, Project details, photocopy of passport, Provisional admission letter, itinerary, 4 sets of filled in Research Visa Form

o    Processing time: approximately 3 to 6 months

o   Fee: HUF 44500/- up to one year; HUF 74200/- more than one year

o   Note: The applicant must also submit an Approval from Ministry of Human Resources Development (Department of Education), New Delhi along with his/her visa application. The Visa is valid till the duration of the research period of the applicant.

• Journalist Visa

o   Documents required: Resume with letter of introduction from Hungarian Organization

o   Processing time: 7 working days

o   Fee: HUF 29700/-

o   Notes:

1)      Journalist visa is given to professional journalists and photographers for up to three months’ stay in India. (If you are intending to make a documentary in India, kindly contact Information/Culture Wing of the Embassy).

2)       Journalist Visa will be granted only to applicants who are Hungarian Nationals.  Other nationals must apply for Conference visa from their native country.

• Transfer Visa:

o   Documents required: Transfer of long term issued Visas from old to new passports.

o   Processing time: 3 working days.

o   Fee: HUF 1900/-

Important Notifications:

• Applicants who are not Hungarian Nationals can apply for tourist visa or short term visa only if they hold Hungarian Residence Permits. They must pay an additional fee of HUF 2800/- so that a reference can be established with the respective Indian mission of the applicants. Time taken for processing of the application will be at least be a period of10 working days
• The mentioned Fee is only meant for Hungarian Nationals
• All the documents must be neatly attached with the form. One photograph of the applicant must be pasted on the application form and the remaining documents must be stapled together in a single bunch along with the form. Another photo of the applicant must be attached with a clip on the form. Any applicant sending in loose documents will not be given acceptance.
• If the applicant desires Visa for some different reason than mentioned above, he/she must contact Consular Department of the Embassy.
• In case of a genuine Emergency, such as a death or illness of a close family member, an applicant may apply for Emergency Visa by paying an additional fee of HUF4620/ along with the documents supporting the case of an emergency and confirmed air tickets. For more information on the procedures and process, an applicant may ask his/her concerned officer. The final decision in case of providing an emergency Visa lies in the hands of the consular officer.
• If an applicant cancels his Visa application, he/she will not be refunded the charged Visa Fee.
