Toronto Visa Information

General Information:
  • All the foreign nationals, wishing to enter India, must have a valid passport with the required valid visa.
  • To fill the online visa applicants, visit http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/.
  • After filling the form, save it, get its printout, sign on it and submit it to offices of BLS International Services Canada Inc. along with all the required documentations.
  • Except for Tibetan Nationals, no other applicant can avail Visas on Travel Documents. Visa documents to Non Tibetan Nationals will be issued only on passports with a minimum validity of 190 days.
  • Any visa application can be rejected by The Consulate General of India without providing any reasons to the applicant.
  • If the visa application is accepted, it does not mean that the visa will be granted. 
  • Applicants who used to hold Indian passport, must provide their Canadian passport with Surrender Certificate or surrendered Indian passport. 
  • If an application is rejected or canceled by the applicant, he/she will not be refunded back his/her visa fee.
  • Applicants visiting India, if coming from or passing through Yellow Fever infected areas must provide a valid certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever.
  • If a foreign National is visiting India for duration of more than 180 days, he/she must register at their nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or District Superintendents of Police in districts. 
  • If an applicant wishes to visit Protected/Restricted area on his/her trip to India, he/she must obtain a Special Permit which can take processing time of minimum 10-12 weeks. 
  • The rules and requirements differ for each type of visa. 
  • Foreign Nationals, if planning to shoot for a film in India, must check the requirements/rules by visiting website of Ministry of External Affairs www.mea.gov.in and go to http://www.cgitoronto.ca/Forms/Documentry%20-%20Film%20Making.pdf.
  • The validity of a visa begins from the date it is issued to the applicant.
  • Tourist visas cannot be extended.
  • Nationals of other countries except from Canada must fill the additional Visa Reference Form.

Note: Non-Canadian applicants are required to pay $20 as additional reference fees.
