Sweden Visa Information

General Information:

Bio-metric procedures for Tourist and other types of Visa

The Embassy made it mandatory that all the applicants (except Official and Diplomatic passport holders) must undergo the 'Biometric Procedure' from 1st October 2013. The procedures are given below:

  • All those Swedish nationals or foreign nationals, who are holders of passport with validity of at least 6 months, must visit the office of M/s Cox and Kings in Stockholm to undergo Biometrics procedures if they wish to apply forEmployment Visa/X-Entry Visa/Transit/Medical Visa/ Student Visa.
  • Applicants for Tourist Visas with permanent residencein Södermanland County, Uppsala County, Stockholm County and Västmanland County must visit the office in Stockholm to undergo Biometric procedures. The applicants who are living in far away areas can send in their applications through post along with their address poof.
  • If an applicant is applying for short term Business Visa, he/she mdoes not need to undergo biometric procedures. If he/she is applying for long term Business Visa, then they must make a prior arrangement with the Embassy for undergoing the biometric procedures.
  • The applicants for all kinds of Visa (except Business Visa) residing in Latvia must visit the office at M/s Coz and Kings in Riga for undergoing Biometric procedures.

How to Apply

  • The applicant can download the Visa application form by visiting the website of Cox and Kings Global Services Sweden AB (www.in.ckgs.se) or from the website of the Embassy. Fill up the form, save it, get a printout, sign on it, attach all the required documents and then submit it to Cox and Kings Global services Sweden AB office either personally or through post.
  • Applicants holding Official and Diplomatic passports form must submit the form at the Embassy.
  • Every individual, inclusive of infants and minors, must fill and submit their separate Visa application forms.
  • The applicant must ensure that all the details in the application form are filled before submitting it. The applicant must also put down his/her signature or thumb impression on the form. The thumb impression of minors must be counter signed by either of the minor’s parent or by his/her guardian.

The following documents must be attached with the Visa applications:

  • Original passport of the applicant with a validity of minimum 6 months and at least 2 blank pages
  • One recent passport size photograph with a white background
  • Evidence of paying the visa fee
  • If the applicant does not hold a Swedish or Latvian Visa or belongs to Sri Lankan origin, he/she must submit Birth certificate and Visa clearance form
  • Documents on the basis of your reason to visit

WHERE TO APPLY

  • All the applicants with permanent residence in Sweden must submit their Visa applications either through post or by visiting Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC).
  • The applicants must make their Visa fee payment directly at IVAC either through Debit Card/Credit/Cash at the counter or by bank transfer using the Bank Giro Number: 108-8509.
  • Applicants residing in Latvia can send their applications either at the Embassy of India, Stockholm or through the Indian Visa Application Centre in Riga.
  • The applicants must make their Visa fee payment directly at IVAC either through Debit Card/Credit/Cash at the counter or by bank transfer using the SEB Account Number SEB LV26UNLA0050020543625. Payments are not accepted in Cash except in a SEB branch in the ABAVA centre.

  • For the applicants living in Latvia and Sweden, the service charges are equal.

VISA FEE

Applicants living in Latvia, applying at Indian Visa Application Center have to pay the Visa fees as follows:

Tourist Visa Fees:             38.40 LVL
CKGS Service:                   4.89 LVL
Bank Charges:                  0.50 LVL

The applicants must note the following major points:               

  • Applicants must also pay Service fee of SEK 58 to the service provider Cox and Kings Global Services Sweden AB.
  • Citizens of certain countries have different visa fee structure for different categories of visas and duration.
  • Government of India instructed the Embassy of India, Stockholm to establish the Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) for meeting the contingency expenditure faced by the Embassy due to carrying out of welfare activities for Overseas Indian Citizens in distress. Applicants requiring Visa Services to India must pay an additional sum of SEK 15 for ICWF.
